Procedure - Follicular Unit Transplantation
Hattingen Hair Transplantation Break
Hattingen Hair Transplantation Spacer At Hattingen Hair Transplantation Prof. Dr. Dr. Voy and his team use the latest proven technique of hair transplantation known as Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT).This technique recognizes that hair grows naturally as irregularly placed groupings of 1-4 and occasionally 5 hairs (Follicular Units), and thus redistributes them to the bald area exactly as nature grows them.

Follicular Unit Transplantation is unique among hair restoration procedures for a number of reasons:
  • Follicular Unit Transplantation respects the way in which the hair normally grows
  • The results achieved appear so natural that typically they are undetectable as a hair transplant
  • The results of the first session look completely natural, thus the patient remains in control whether he would like to pursue further session. He is not locked into a multi stage process because of detectability or unnatural appearance of the first session's results
The hair on the back and sides of the scalp tends to be permanent and is therefore known as the donor area or donor site. Aided by new refined techniques and instruments these FU groupings are removed from the donor area in a strip and then carefully dissected under microscopic magnification into individual follicular unit grafts.
With all techniques sufficient space must be left between the grafts to ensure proper blood flow necessary for the grafts to grow. The larger the grafts, the larger the space needed to be left between them, and thus fewer grafts that can be transplanted in one session. By using FU grafts as the building blocks of our transplant procedure, we take advantage of the naturally compact size of the Follicular Units, and can thus insert hundreds to thousands of grafts in one session with minimal disruption to the blood supply. It all leads to natural looking results, faster and better healing and fewer sessions to achieve your hair restoration goals.
